About the Institution
The Institution of Textile Technology is one of the Special Diploma Intuitions in Central Institutes of Technology Campus (C.I.T Campus) at Tharamani, Chennai Functioning under the administrative control of the Director of Technical Education, Government Of Tamilnadu.
This Institute was established in the year 1965 with a 3 year Diploma Course in Textile Technology with an annual intake of 60 students. The curriculum is developed by the state board of Technical Education. This course is offered to both men and women.
The workshop and Laboratories of the Institute were modernized with the latest machineries and equipments under the world Bank Assistance Scheme. The passed out student of this institude and employed initially in the supervisory cadres in various Textile Manufacturing Organizations and Fabric Coordinators/Production Coordinators/Quality Control in charges in the Garment Industries and some of the students pursue higher studies such as B.Tech and AMIE(Textile Engineering).
MISSION
The primary mission of the institute of Textile Technology is to educate and train the students in specialized area of Textile Technology to meet the human resource needs of the Textile and Garment Industries.
We educate and train students and adults to take responsibility for their own learning and promote an attitude of life long learning.
